How to get rid of an antique furniture store
A home decor store that was selling furniture in the ’70s has moved to the suburbs, according to local news outlet The Oregonian.
The furniture store, located at 16th and Hawthorne streets, was known for its funky, retro decor.
Now, the store is slated to open up to the public on the weekend, according, The Oregonians.
The store will open its doors at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and a special show will begin at 1 p.m., the newspaper reports.
The OregonIAN notes that the store was known as the “Furniture City of Portland” in the 1970s and ’80s.
The company closed in 2016.
The location is owned by the company that has owned the store since it opened in the early ’80.
The Portland Mercury reports that the owner of the property, Fred Smith, has plans to redevelop the property into a mixed-use development.
The owner plans to renovate the building, including installing new flooring, plumbing, electrical and gas lines.
