MTV: The Best of Marlo TV show
Marlo: The Musical, by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, is the musical about the life and career of Marlboro Man, the eccentric British musician who played the piano in Marlborough High School from 1955 to 1962.
While Marlo has become a hit on the BBC, it’s also one of the longest-running British TV shows, with more than 25 seasons to date.
In the series, Marlo is played by Terry Prachtsons son, Michael, who also wrote the script.
He plays Marlo on stage in the show, and has also directed episodes.
Marlboro Man is known for his bizarre behaviour, but it also has a long and storied history.
He was one of four performers to be sentenced to 15 years in jail in 1962 for a number of lewd acts committed against the girls of his school, and he also was convicted of assault and attempted murder.
Marlo was also once sentenced to prison for sexual abuse of two young girls in a nightclub, which was later overturned in his favour by the High Court.
